The Secret Behind The Secret

the-secret_sealI finally watched The Secret movie last week.  It is an excellent movie about The Law of Attraction, and if you haven’t seen it, you can watch it here.  It was an excellent reminder about how The Law of Attraction works. The movie went into detail about what the Law of Attraction is, and how different people apply it to manifest whatever they want in their lives. There were a number of “experts” interviewed in the movie, and each person has their own “spin” on how they apply the LOA. Each “spin” is totally valid. Some used positive thinking, some used visualization, some used  affirmations, but the 2 ideas that run underneath each spin is that Everything is Energy, and You Attract Like-Energy.

What does this really mean? Simply put, Everything is Made Up of Energy.  This is something Einstein theorized with his famous equation E=mc*2. The Energy (frequency) that you are made of “attracts” (via Law of Attraction) things [people, places, situations] that are of a similar frequency. In addition, we all have an “Internal Guidance System” built into us from birth.  This Guidance System is also referred to as “intuition” or “gut feel”, but the important this is that everyone has it.  The way it works goes like this:  When you feel good, your frequency is high and you attract good things and everything is great;  when you don’t feel so good, your frequency is low and you attract not-so-good things, and  things usually don’t go so well.

This fundamental message of The Secret [that Everything is Energy and You Are An Extension of Source Energy] was diluted when certain scenes were deleted from the movie before it was released. Here is Abraham’s take on the delete scenes:

Why is this important?  Because what you are seeing in the current movie is incomplete! It leaves out the central message that YOU ARE AN EXTENSION OF SOURCE ENERGY.  Somehow, I knew that Energy is an important part of my life’s equation. So I sought out and tried many tools to help me understand this. I started with Reiki and Passage Meditation and eventually moved on to Awakening Your Light Body (meditation) and Music. However, I learned that the easiest way to raise my frequency was simply to do things that that I love to do – the things that make my heart sing, stomach flutter, and put me in The Zone. For me it’s making music, dancing, skiing, rollerblading, and meditation.  For others it may be things like walking in nature, running, swimming, painting, reading. Why should you do the things you love?  Simply because doing these things makes you feel good, and connect you to your Source.  I quickly figured out that the better I feel [the higher I raise my frequency], the better my life gets. And the better my life gets, the better I feel. It’s an upward spiral.

Meditation has been a great tool for me.  However, another tool that is often overlooked, is simply to learn how to protect your frequency by choosing to not being around people, places, or situations that make you feel bad, ie, things that lower your frequency.  Even watching certain movies can lower your frequency and make you feel bad, so I avoid movies that don’t make me feel good.

So many people I know choose to ignore how something is making them feel, and what it is doing to their energy.  We all have a built-in Internal Guidance System that tells us whether something feels good or bad.  Protecting your frequency means paying attention to how something feels to you and moving towards things that feel good, and moving away from things that feel bad.  It really is that simple!

I can’t tell you how many times I have seen people (myself included) ignore their Internal Guidance Systems only to end up pursuing a person, place, or thing (against their gut feeling) that ends up being a terrible choice.  What is sad is when a person knows it doesn’t feel good but moves forward with it anyway because they are getting something they think they want (title, money, promotion, money, perceived security, etc).  Usually the mess they end up in was not worth whatever they thought they got.

And usually when you have a mess to deal with, chances are you won’t feel very good. So you not only have to deal with the mess, but you have the task of raising your frequency back up to where it was before the mess happened.  It’s so much easier to pay attention to your Internal Guidance System in the first place. Protecting your frequency requires that you put yourself first and make sure that the most important thing is that you feel good.  You want to learn to monitor how you feel moment by moment so you can fine tune what you create in your life.  When you find yourself not feeling so good, simply remove yourself from the people, places, movies, or situations that are causing you to feel not so good.

Know that the Universe knows what you want.  Trust that the Universe is bringing you what you want.  Listen to your Internal Guidance System because that is the Universe talking to you.  If something feels good, move towards it.  If something feels bad, move away from it.  It really is that simple.

These simple rules have served me well.  Allowing my frequency to raise bit by bit, day by day, has resulted in a life has gotten better and better, more peaceful, more harmonious, more joyful, more abundant, and most of all more FUN.  My partners, friends, work, hobbies, friends, and relationships are amazing.  And I know the future will be equally amazing.

If you want to manifest the life of your dreams, the most important thing that you can do is to be aware of and protect your frequency. As you follow these simple guidelines, your life (and the lives of those around you) gets better, and you will know that the most important thing is that you feel good.
